Mary Lore Recommends True Alignment by Edgar Papke

Edgar Papke was one of the first people to bring me in to share Managing Thought® with groups of CEOs that he was mentoring. 20 years ago, my topic was a reach for executives in the corporate arena. Edgar was a thought leader then and he’s a thought leader now in the area of organizational performance and his first book is True Alignment: Linking Company Culture with Customer Needs for Extraordinary Results.

I had the honor and privilege of reading it and writing a review. “Alignment isn’t typically taught at business school or in leadership development programs. Yet every moment of time, every dollar, and every ounce of energy we spend is either in alignment with who we are and what we wish to create — or it’s not. This is the first book to explain how to achieve clarity about what your customer is truly buying and how to align your organization, your culture, your resources, and your leadership style to deliver it. True Alignment is an indispensable guide to refer to for years to come. It makes a great gift for leaders, managers, business owners, entrepreneurs, teams…. that creates a ripple effect for years to come.

Kris Taylor has brought together her keen insights about organizations, change and leadership to create Evergreen Leadership.  Hundreds of leaders from hundreds of companies across the country have worked with Kris and her talented associates for help in successfully implementing large scale, mission critical change initiatives. Evergreen Leadership reflects Kris’s signature talent of creating high impact learning programs where leaders emerge with deep insights about their own personal leadership and learn how to lead others in today’s fast paced and uncertain environment. Check out Kris’s book The Leader’s Guide to Turbulent Times: a practical, easy-to-use guide to leading in today’s times. Kris served as a guest blogger on my blog. Check it out.

I met Cindie Hubiak when I presented a workshop on Managing Thought® to the Board of the Arizona Society of CPAs. Cindie, the President of the Society, impressed me on so many levels. What most impressed me is Cindie’s personal story and her commitment to helping women whose partners are suffering or recovering from prostate cancer.   She provides the tools to honor and grieve your losses, strengthen your relationship, and lead fulfilling lives — mentally, emotionally, sexually, and spiritually.

If you or someone you know is dealing with prostate cancer, order her book: A Women’s Guide to Thriving after Prostate Cancer. Her book isn’t just for women. It’s for men who want to empower the women in their lives and ensure their relationships thrive.

I am honored to be included in Cindie’s book as a Resource for Moving from Surviving to Thriving.  She shows so beautifully and poignantly how managing our thoughts leads to self-awareness, creativity, and a life of gratitude even when we are experiencing cancer.

When I first met Christy Morgan, she was a young chef, an aspiring author and a new speaker who made her debut at the French Meadows Annual Macrobiotic Conference and Camp where I presented for many years.

In a blog a few weeks later, Christy shared  “I had the opportunity to give a lecture about how to make a healthy lifestyle work in your everyday life. Before my lecture I got a pep talk from my friend and amazing speaker, Mary Lore, because I get pretty nervous in these situations. She called me the future generation of teachers, no pressure!! … Mary taught me that I create my reality … and that it really takes awareness to stop, recognize the old thoughts, then make a conscious choice to create a new thought… Right before my class I started getting a little anxious about it. I had to breathe, pause and remind myself that I know my stuff and have no problem giving a lecture. I used to be terrified of speaking in front of others – I’m not anymore. I was thrilled and realized that no matter how nervous I get I have a lot to share with the world. “

I invite you to check out Christy’s website at BlissfulandFit.com and Christy’s book Blissful Bites: Vegan Meals That Nourish Mind, Body, and Planet.  Christy is making a difference in the lives of those who are busy AND are committed to eating healthy, naturally, and happily. I have made and enjoyed several recipes from the book and they are quick, easy, and delicious!
