December 2011
Today is my birthday. Yes, it’s a great excuse to eat carrot cake. What makes it a really big deal for me is lighting the candles, blowing out the candles, and making my wish.
When I light each candle, I am acknowledging and celebrating my life—what’s happened, who I’ve met, what I’ve learned, my triumphs and tragedies, what I’ve received and what I have given. As I look into the flame of the candles – which burns more brightly every year – I acknowledge and celebrate how far I have come and I am thankful for the contribution of countless others, who knowingly, and unknowingly, have helped me along the way. As I make my wish and blow out my candles, I am letting go of and releasing my past and recognizing that this is a new and wonder-full day! For in this moment, I am creating who I want to be, my new highest vision of myself, and what I truly wish to create in this world.
Today, I celebrate all of my incredibly full years. I look forward to the continuing adventure and, of course, the carrot cake!
Thank you for sharing it with me.
